A triadic color scheme uses colors that are evenly spaced around the color wheel.
In the garden this scheme tends to be quite vibrant, even with pale or unsaturated colors.
To use a triadic harmony successfully, the colors need to be carefully balanced - allow one color dominate and use the two others as accents.
NOTE: Because there are no green flowered Salvias, we are including the bract color in our determination of this color relationship.
Here are the possible combinations for triadic colors:
First Color | Second Color | Third Color |
---|---|---|
Red | Yellow | Blue |
Red Orange | Yellow Green | Blue Violet |
Orange | Green | Violet |
Yellow Orange | Blue Green | Red Violet |
