(Elk Red-Violet Hybrid Sage) A very special new hybrid Sage, featuring small but very numerous deep reddish violet flowers on a vigorous, easy to grow plant. If you put the parents side by side, it would be easy to see this as their "child", with leaves and flowers intermediate between the two.
In 2016 when we first test grew this variety we feared it would "bloom itself the death". Starting in mid-summer and continuing until first frost it is covered in small, deeply colored flowers. The plant branches nicely is is more durable than the Salvia dichlamys parent. All in all, a fine new Salvia from FBTS.
Loved by bees, butterflies and hummingbirds. New for 2018.
