Allow plenty of space for this beauty.  The rosettes of large leaves can grow three feet or more across, and the flower spikes reach five to six feet tall and up to three feet across.  Flowers open over the course of many weeks, making it a long blooming type.  The leaves are sticky, so don't place these along a well used pathway.  We've found that it loves water, but as with most Salvias needs good drainage.  The meaty roots are large and strong, making this an excellent addition to woodland gardens.

Mount Emei is a 10,000 foot plus tall mountain in Sichuan Province, China that is a center of floral diversity.  It is one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China, and has been considered a sacred site for millennia.
