(Purple & Bloom Sage) Floriferous, dark-stemmed spikes of deep violet-purple blossoms surrounded by charcoal-purple bracts make Salvia ‘Purple & Bloom’ a dramatic addition to sage gardens. It has large, dark green, wrinkly leaves shaped like elongated hearts.
Although perennial in warmer winter climates, this is an excellent annual due to rapid growth. Bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds love this Salvia guaranitica-type sage, which is ideal both for flowerbeds and container growing.
Give Purple & Bloom full sun to partial shade, soil with excellent drainage, and average to ample supplemental watering for best results. To increase bloom over its long flowering season, deadhead spent flowers.
